Introduction: Several years ago, I created a hotel video for Hotel Baltschug Kempinski. The objective was to produce a promotional video for the hotel's business needs. One of the requirements was to avoid showcasing any recognisable faces in the video due to the lack of professional actors.

The Creative Challenge: Given the limitation of not showcasing faces, I had to find an innovative approach to create an engaging video. The hotel's management emphasised the importance of highlighting the services without relying on the presence of individual staff members whose faces might change over time. With this in mind, I set out to focus on the details of the hotel's services, aiming to convey a sense of excellence and care that guests could expect.

The Creative Solution: I decided to capture the hotel team in action, performing various tasks that showcase the hotel's outstanding service. Close-up shots became the key element of the video, allowing me to emphasise the dedication behind each service. The video showcased moments such as a concierge ringing a bell and presenting a map, a chef adding the final touches to a dish, and a housekeeper fluffing up a pillow. By capturing these moments, the video released a sense of elegance and luxury that the hotel wanted to convey.

Client's Reaction and Success: The hotel's marketing team loved the video and accepted it without further revisions. The video perfectly embodied the essence of Kempinski's aesthetics, aligning with the hotel's brand image. As a result, the video replaced their existing promotional asset and has continued to be in use to this day.

Building a Long-Term Partnership: The success of this paved the way for continued collaboration between myself and Baltschug Kempinski. Subsequently, I produced dozens of more videos for them and expanded my work to other Kempinski Hotels in different regions, including one of my favourites — Siam Kempinski in Bangkok.

Conclusion: This case study highlights the importance of creativity in overcoming challenges during hotel video production. By focusing on the finer details of services and using close-up shots, I managed to create a timeless promotional video that continues to serve Kempinski Hotel's promotional needs. The success of this project opened the door to a fruitful partnership and allowed me to showcase my video production expertise in the world of luxury hospitality.
