ION Adventure Hotel, Iceland

The brief
A building that hovers over the lava field — a film that moves at Iceland’s speed.
ION Adventure Hotel stands alone in the volcanic landscape near Nesjavellir, its famous cantilever facing nothing but highlands. The brief was an ambience and interiors film — the architecture, the spa, the rooms and the silence around them — for the hotel’s website and social channels.
The approach
No story was needed; the place is the story. We let the film sit still the way the landscape does — long, quiet takes of the building in snow, the geothermal pool under its concrete pillars, sheepskin and glass against the white outside. Ambient sound leads; music stays behind it. Iceland’s low winter light did the grading’s work.
The cantilever
The building itself — architecture alone in the lava field.
Warmth against white
The pool, the fire, sheepskin and timber against the snow.
Iceland’s pace
Long takes, ambient sound, nothing hurried.
